Many of Walt's works were commissions from individuals, groups or publications. His creativity and imagination were always on alert for scenes that he could use to challenge his artistic skills. Morning Light was painted as an homage to the beauty right in Walt’s home. His family’s house was nestled in the pine forest of Southern Connecticut, and the light streaming through those trees at any time of day was a wonder to behold. Morning Light captures an intimate moment when the light was just right and the day was just beginning.
