About Walter Hagen - Determined Man: Like Rodney Dangerfield, the early pros were not getting any "respect"and made very little money. The colorful and determined Walter Hagen was a force to be reckoned with. He conceived of linking the tournments to charity which included a purse for the pros to compete to win. He helped form the early Tour using this "model," which survives to this day.
